Let Princess Diana rest in peace
From : Letters to the editor from The Morning Call.com
It infuriates and saddens me when I read in the paper or hear on TV disparaging remarks
about Princess Diana 10 years after her untimely death. She was a lovely young lady who married into the wrong family.
Charles was 12 years older. I don’t know if she knew about his mistress before the marriage, but according to an interview I saw recently, she said, ”There are three people in my marriage” — sad, very sad!
Maybe she should have waited a few years to marry. She might have met a lovely doctor or lawyer who would have a nice home for her, a home with love in it. I read that her in-laws treated her shabbily. Did they forget they are in the position they are in due to a ”fluke”? If King Edward had not abdicated, his brother, Elizabeth’s father, would not have been king. Elizabeth would not be queen and Charles would not be Prince of Wales.
It was clear that Diana adored her sons and had many causes that kept her busy. She was like a breath of fresh air to that stodgy family and millions of people around the world lived vicariously through her. May she rest in peace.
